MODS FOR IC 2350

I have recently purchased the Icom 2350. I called Icom for the
complete modification for expanded RX and TX and they
sent the following....

For expanded receive

1. Cut W1 jumper wire on logic board located behind the display

After this is done, the radio will receive the following..
   118.000 to 135.999MHz (AM/FM)
   136.000 to 174.000MHz
   320.000 to 399.995MHz (AM/FM)
   400.000 to 479.000MHz

For expanded transmit

1. Remove D9 on the logic board behind the display for expanded VHF
2. Remove D8 on the logic board behind the display for expanded UHF

After this is done, the radio will transmit in the following
   frequency ranges....

   136.000 to 174.000
   400.000 to 479.000

Crossband repeat is activated by pressing "main", "sub" and "set"
 for 3 seconds
The radio will not pass it's own PL tone in the crossband repeat mode.

This Mod is different than the mod posted by G40XY so I don't know what
the deal is, But I know that the Mod that I got from Icom works fine.

-----------------------

After purchasing the Icom 2350 dual band mobile I contacted Icom directly
and they sent me the following information. This mod has been tested and
works just fine.

Expand Receive Frequency:
By cutting W1 jumper on logic unit located behind the display, receive
frequency will be expanded on both bands.

Expand Frequency Range:
   118.000 - 135.999MHz *(AM/FM)
   136.000 - 174.000MHz
   320.000 - 399.995MHz *(AM/FM)
   400.000 - 479.000MHz
                                     * Selectable mode by [V/MHz] key.
                                       Activated when pushing the [V/MHz]
key for more than one second.

Expand Transmit Frequency:
By removing D9 on logic unit, VHF will be expanded.
By removing D8 on logic unit, UHF will be expanded.

Transmitable Frequency Range:
   136.000 - 174.000Mhz
   400.000 - 479.000MHz

To activate Crossband Repeat:
Push and hold "main", "sub", and "set" for 3 seconds until "L"'s flash
on the display.

There was another mod posted for this radio that I found to be incorrect.
I am not sure what the deal is with it. For another Radio maybe?
